Jessie Forastiere

Jessie Lynch Forastiere, 92, of Pekin died at 1:52 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2001, at her residence.

Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 23, at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City, with the Rev. Robert Paddack officiating.

Burial will be in Mason City Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Forastiere was a housewife.

She was a veteran of the Army Nurse Corps, in which she was a second lieutenant.

She was born March 5, 1909, in Oakford to Samuel C. and Margaret E. Cohee Lynch. She married Dr. Roger J. Forastiere on May 15, 1944, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He died in 1992.

She is survived by two brothers, Donald A. Lynch of Long Prairie, Minn., and Russell C. Lynch of Mason City; one sister, Shirley J. Hawks of Mason City; and several nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Coco Plum Womans Club in Miami, Fla., and of the Doctors Auxiliary in Coral Gables, Fla.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Jackson Keen Post 496, Mason City.
