Louise
J. Zilinsky, 83, of Lincoln died at 6:27 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14,
2001, at Memorial Medical Center.
Her
funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Holy Family Church
in Lincoln, with the Rev. Thomas Taylor officiating.
Burial
will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Kerrigan Funeral Home in
Lincoln. The rosary and wake service will be at noon.
Mrs. Zilinsky was a
cafeteria supervisor for Cutler-Hammer Co. in Lincoln. She retired
in 1983.
She
was born July 3, 1918, in Lincoln to Rudolph and Rose Polsenek
Sparhakel. She married William Zilinsky on Sept. 25, 1940, in
Bowling Green, Mo. He died Sept. 1, 1984.
Surviving
are one granddaughter, Lynn Lambros of Lincoln; one
great-granddaughter; and one sister, Josephine Shoup of Lincoln.
She
was also preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Lambros; two
brothers; and one sister.
She
was a member of Holy Family Church in Lincoln.

Moos
Ruth
I. Moos, 77, of Lincoln died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001,
at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
Her
funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Holy Family
Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Thomas Taylor officiating.
Burial
will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kerrigan Funeral Home in
Lincoln. The rosary and wake service will be at 5 p.m.
Mrs.
Moos was a cook for 13 years at Carroll Catholic School. She retired
in 1992. She had also been a seamstress in her home.
She
was born April 22, 1924, in Lincoln to Thomas and Lily Armstrong
Watson. She married William Moos in Lincoln on Oct. 30, 1946. He
survives.
Also
surviving are five sons, William Moos of Springfield and Daniel,
Tim, Jerry and Patrick Moos, all of Lincoln; one daughter, Kay Foss
of Lincoln; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; and one sister,
Dorothy Marrs of Lincoln.
She
was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
She
was a member of Holy Family Church, Holy Family Society, Logan
County Retired Cooks Association and the Depression Glass Club in
Lincoln.
Memorial

Shea
Betty
L. Shea, 72, of Lincoln died at 9:20 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at
Maple Ridge Health Care Centre.
Her
funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Tom Gerdts officiating.
Burial
will be in Old Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs.
Shea retired from General Telephone Co. after 44 years as operator
and business office employee. She was also hostess at the Tropics,
Heritage Inn and Hotel Lincoln.
She
was born April 10, 1929, in Lincoln to Homer C. and Dorothy Evans
Shehorn. She married David R. "Stoolie" Shea on Dec. 4,
1954, in Shelbyville. He died Feb. 12, 1970.
Surviving
are three brothers, Keith Ronald (and wife Lois) Shehorn of St.
Helena Island, S.C., Vernon Lee (and Sharon) Shehorn of Lincoln and
Richard Frederick of Lincoln; and many nieces and nephews.
She
was also preceded in death by four brothers.
She
graduated from Lincoln Community High School.

Strunk
James
E. Strunk, 68, of Lincoln died at 6:17 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001,
at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
His
funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Larry Maffett officiating.
Burial,
with military rites, will be in Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
There
will be no visitation.
Strunk
retired from Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co. He also drove school buses
for Lincoln schools.
He
was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He
was born Aug. 11, 1933, to Jack and Goldie Black Strunk. He married
Irene Kinton on Nov. 20, 2000, in Lincoln. She survives.
Also
surviving are one stepdaughter, Carol (and husband Bill) Troxel of
Linn Creek, Mo.; two stepgrandchildren; and two
step-great-grandchildren.
He
was preceded in death by two brothers.

Peggy
A. Sadler, 52, of Atlanta was pronounced dead at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday,
Nov. 13, 2001, at her home by the Logan County coroner’s office.
Death was apparently due to natural causes.
Her
funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the
Quiram Funeral Home in Atlanta, with the Rev. Claude Peifer
officiating.
Burial
will be in Atlanta Cemetery.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs.
Sadler was employed at the State Farm Insurance Company Illinois
Regional Office for 33 years.
She
was born Oct. 23, 1949, at Lincoln to Frank J. and Mary L. Seller
Shay. She married George E. Sadler on May 2, 1992, in Atlanta. He
survives.
Also
surviving are her mother, Mary Shay of Atlanta; two brothers, Mike
(and wife Sue) Shay of Atlanta and Terry (and Kathi) Shay of
Atlanta; two sisters, Cindy Mont and Judy Quisenberry, both of
Atlanta; and nieces and nephews Michael Shay, Jessie Shay, Amanda
Quisenberry, Danielle Mont and Travis Mont.
She
was preceded in death by her father and one sister.
She
was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

at her home.

Mrs.
Hatfield retired as a cook for Warrensburg-Latham sixth grade and
had been a waitress at several area restaurants.
She
was born Oct. 23, 1917, in Millerstown, Ky., to Charles W. and Mary
Elizabeth Willis Williams. She married John H. Hatfield in Texas on
Dec. 24, 1942.
Surviving are her
husband, of Latham; three daughters, Nancy (and husband Richard)
Ratts of Gilbertsville, Ky., Carolyn (and Rick) Bragg of Illiopolis
and Ruth (and Darrell) Heckman of Lake Placid, Fla.; four
grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren
and three step-great-grandchildren; one
step-great-great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Rena C. Farris of
Elizabethtown, Ky., and Mary Agalene Nunn of Millerstown, Ky.
She was preceded in
death by one daughter, Janet Sue Farkas, and one infant son.
She was a member of
Latham United Methodist Church.

William "Bill" Howe, 78, of Chestnut died at 9:17 a.m. Monday, Nov.
12, 2001, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
His

Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with Bill Shanle and the Rev. Carol
Andricks officiating.

with military services, will be in Lake Bank Cemetery.

will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the funeral
home in Mount Pulaski. An open Masonic service will be at 4 p.m.
Howe
was road commissioner and an employee of Aetna Township for over 50
years.
He
was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was born Feb. 14,
1923, in Lake Fork Township to Otis G. and Minnie Irene Miller Howe.
He married Peggy Donnan in 1943. On Dec. 30, 1990, he married Ida
Phipps in Tonica.
Surviving are his
wife, Ida Howe of Chestnut; one daughter, Darlene McKinney of
Chestnut; two stepdaughters, Kathryn (and husband Terry) Sachan of
Morton and Tammy Mann of Mount Pulaski; one stepson, Chip Nimrick of
Chatham; one grandchild and six stepgrandchildren; one
step-great-grandchild; and four brothers, Eldo T. Howe of Clinton,
Everett (and Rosalie) Howe of Latham, Donald E. (and Betty) Howe of
Warrensburg and Otis G. "Pete" Howe of Cedar Point.
He was preceded in
death by one brother and one son.
He was a member of
Chestnut United Methodist Church.
