Happy Birthday to
Anna M. McCullough

Hannah Webster, born March 14, 2000, reaches out to her great-grandmother,
Anna McCullough, born Oct. 12, 1901.  Hannah was born 99 years after
her great-grandmother. Hannah is sitting in the lap of her mother,
Anna (McCullough) Webster, born April 15, 1965.

Anna M. (Franke) McCullough was born in Newton, Illinois, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. W. E. Franke. She will celebrate her 100th birthday with her daughters, Roseanne Judd from Rochester, N.Y., and Kathleen McCullough in Lincoln, where she presently lives. The family gathering will include eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She lived most of her life in Newton, with her husband, Francis T. McCullough, who died in 1992. Anna moved to Lincoln in 1994 and presently lives at 405 Lincoln Ave. with Kathleen.

Anna enjoys attending Mass at Holy Family Church, taking care of her potted flowers on the front porch, and watching Sammy Sosa and the Chicago Cubs on TV. She writes letters to her relatives and Newton friends almost every day and receives many letters in return. After her children married and left Newton, she wrote local news part-time for The Mentor-Democrat and the Newton Press. The staff at the newspaper celebrated her last day of work with a birthday party and cake on her 80th birthday when she retired.

Anna (Fisher) Franke was born Sept. 26, 1869, in Newton, Ill., the daughter of Captain Neil and Anna (McGill) Fisher.  Anna died Oct. 14, 1954, at age 85.
