Vera
M. Rabbe, 87, of Mason City died at 7:50 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001,
at Mason City Area Nursing Home.
Her
funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Christ
Lutheran Church of Mason City, with the Rev. Robert Martinek
officiating.
Burial
will be in Mason City Cemetery.
There
is no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Hurley Funeral
Home in Mason City.
Mrs.
Rabbe taught kindergarten for 12 years at Christ Lutheran Church in
Mason City. She also taught in the New Holland-Middletown district
and in many country schools.
She
was born Sept. 23, 1913, at San Jose to Jacob and Anna Jacob Imig.
She married William Rabbe on May 19, 1935, in San Jose. He died Feb.
26, 1999.
Surviving
are one son, Mike (and wife Holly) Rabbe of Normal; two daughters,
Janis Robertson of Mason City and Carole (and husband Harry)
Fletcher of Normal; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren;
five brothers, Henry Imig, Walter Imig and Floyd Imig of San Jose,
Paul Imig of Texas and Duane Imig of Florida; and one sister,
Florence Behrends of Easton.
She
was also preceded in death by a grandson.
She
was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and of the Dorcas
organization.
Memorials
may be made to her church.
