Violet
Mae Little, 82, of Latham died at 10:06 p.m. Thursday, April 18,
2002, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Her
funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 22, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. The Rev. Gilbert Fletcher will
officiate. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial
will be in Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg.
Mrs.
Little was a homemaker.
She
was born July 8, 1919, at Latham to Orval and Mary Canloes Taylor.
She married Floyd E. Little in Latham on Aug. 30, 1938. He died Oct.
30, 1975.
Surviving
are two sons, Lloyd Earl (and Bernadine) Little of Latham and Billy
Little of Latham; one daughter, Nancy (and Paul) Johnson of Ocean
Springs, Miss.; three grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren;
three step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bob (and Rita) Taylor
of Gibson City and Dale (and Susie) Taylor of Latham; and two
sisters, Norma (and James) Stiles of Decatur and Betty (and Floyd)
Horn of Decatur.
She
was also preceded in death by one sister, Audrey Hackey.
She
was a member of Latham United Methodist Church, the sewing group at
Decatur Memorial Hospital and Mount Pulaski T.O.P.S. She was also an
election judge for Laenna Township.

Leona
E. Donath, 82, of Lincoln died at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2002,
at her home.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at Holland and Barry
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Her
funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, at Holland and
Barry, with the Rev. Mark Carnahan officiating.
Burial
will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Mrs.
Donath was a retired elementary teacher.
She
was born Aug. 19, 1919, in Lincoln to Allen and Lena May Beaver Eury.
She married John W. Donath on April 5, 1944, in Lincoln. He died
Oct. 10, 1995.
Surviving
are one daughter, Carla J. Ackerman of Lincoln; two granddaughters,
Miki (and husband Todd) Farwell of Brewton, Ala., and Franni (and
husband Tom) Vlahovich of Philo; and one great-granddaughter,
Delaney Farwell of Brewton, Ala.
She
was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Retired Teachers
Association, DAR, Logan County Homemakers Extension and Logan County
Farm Bureau. She also taught crocheting at The Oasis senior center
in Lincoln.
She
was a graduate of Lincoln College.
Memorials

United Methodist Church Heritage Ringer Bell Choir.

Gerald
Billington
Gerald
L. Billington, 76, of rural McLean died at 11:05 p.m. Tuesday, April
16, 2002, at BroMenn Regional Medical Center in Normal.
Billington
was cremated. There will be no visitation.
Graveside
services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the McLean Cemetery. Tony
Billingsley will officiate.
Quiram
Funeral Home in Atlanta is in charge of arrangements.
Billington
and his wife farmed 40 years for the Isaac Funk and Anton
Hildebrandt families in the McLean area. When he retired from
farming, he worked for Funk Seeds International and for Farm and
Fleet in Bloomington.
He
served in the Merchant Marines as an officer’s cook from 1945
through 1947 and worked at the Langellier Ford dealership in Lincoln
after being discharged from the service.
He
was born Jan. 2, 1926, at Atlanta to Charles and Anna Trago
Billington. He married Marcia Necessary on June 17, 1950, at
Atlanta. She survives.
Also
surviving are one daughter, Vicki (and Matthew) Mikel of El Paso;
one son, Michael (and Jeannie) Billington of McLean; two grandsons,
Ryan and Joshua Billington of McLean; one brother, Ernie (and
Louise) Billington of Mount Pulaski; and two sisters, Doris (and
Bill) Morris of Lincoln and Neona (and David) Myrick of Cave Creek,
Ariz.
He
was preceded in death by one sister, two brothers and an infant son,
Troy Eric.
He
was a member of the McLean Christian Church, where he served 35
years as elder. He was also a member of the Atlanta Bowling
Association and the McLean County Farm Bureau. He was a trustee on
the McLean Cemetery Board from 1982 to 2001.
He
enjoyed woodworking and restoring farm tractors. He was an avid
Cardinal fan.

Christian Church.
