Louise Hofmann

Louise Marion Hofmann, 83, of San Jose died at 9:15 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, 2002, at Hopedale Hospital.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City and from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo.

There will also an hour for visitation before the funeral service, which will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Wartburg. The Rev. Marvin Lorenz will officiate.

Burial will be in Monroe City Cemetery.

Mrs. Hofmann was a homemaker.

She was born Jan. 18, 1919, in Pekin. Her biological parents were George Lieber and Bertha Murer. He foster parents were Martin and Wilhemina Studt. She married Carl P. Hofmann on Sept. 19, 1942, in Hannibal, Mo. He died Aug. 13, 1964.

Survivors are two sons, Ronald (and Phyllis) Hofmann of San Jose and Donald Hofmann of San Jose; one daughter, Janet (and Donald) Cookson of Manito; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a half brother, Ray Radcliff of Pekin; and two sisters, Melva Dieband of Irma, Wis., and a foster sister, Esther Boehne of Waterloo.

She was also preceded in death by three daughters, Judith C. Hofmann, Janette S. Hofmann and JoAnn L. Hofmann; one foster brother, Richard Studt; and three sisters.

She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, San Jose.

Memorials may be made to the family, in care of Mason City National Bank, to help with expenses.
