William Dale Clapp

William Dale Clapp, 64, of Lincoln died at 3 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2002, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, with Pastor Paul Ayappa officiating.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.

Clapp was a commercial truck driver for 40 years.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1962.

He was born Sept. 20, 1937, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to William and Treva Davenport Clapp. He married Anna Clenin on Sept. 24, 1982, at Funks Grove.

Surviving are his wife, of Lincoln; four sons, William Say of Aurora, Capt. David (and Juliete) Clapp of Fort Bragg, N.C., William "Bill" (and Sam) Clapp of Joliet and Andrew Clapp of Lincoln; three daughters, Katherine (and Lester) Larson of Gardner, Wendy (and Robert) Clapp-Hataburda of LaPorte, Ind., and Susan (and Leonard) Harmon of Lake Fork; eight grandchildren; one sister, Cheryl (and Mark) Ages of Craig, Colo.; and his aunt Lavaughn "Donnie" Clapp of Colorado Springs, Colo., who raised him.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Gary.

Memorials may be made to the William Clapp Memorial Fund.
