A large crowd came out this morning, Monday, July 15, for the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board public hearing. Those who spoke adamantly registered their opinions on the planned closure of Lincoln Developmental Center. At the forefront supporting LDC were Sen. Larry Bomke and state Rep. Bill Mitchell, with Rep. Jonathan Wright receiving a standing ovation following his powerful and stirring speech. The hearing, which began at 9 a.m., was still in process at the Knights of Columbus at the time of this posting.
