Annie McLaughlin
Annie McLaughlin, 84, of Atlanta, died
at 10:35 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2002, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital in Lincoln.
There will be no visitation.
Private family services will be at
Atlanta Cemetery, with Andy Glass officiating.
Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta, is
handling arrangements.
Mrs. McLaughlin was a homemaker.
She entered the Logan County Fair
cooking and baking competitions for over 40 years and won numerous
awards.
She was born April 16, 1918, at rural
Hartsburg to George and Bessie Gilchrist Short. She married Charles
"Jake" McLaughlin on May 20, 1942, in St. Louis, Mo.

Andrew Pettijohn
Andrew W. Pettijohn, 34, of Lincoln
died Friday, June 14, 2002, in an accident on Route 136 near
Waynesville. Pronouncement of death was at 5:21 p.m.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m.
Monday, June 17, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday
at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, with the Rev. Joel Beard and the Rev.
Dennis Shaw officiating.
Burial will be in Zion Cemetery,
Lincoln.
Pettijohn owned Domino’s Pizza in
Lincoln and Mahomet.
He was born Oct. 19, 1967, in Lincoln
to Morris W. and Joyce Lascelles Pettijohn. He married Michelle A.
Young on Aug. 19, 1989, in Lincoln. She survives.
Also surviving are his parents, of
Lincoln; four daughters, Heather, Kallie, Taylor and Alexus
Pettijohn, all of Lincoln; one son, Chase Pettijohn of Lincoln; one
sister, Amanda Franklin of Lincoln; and his maternal grandfather,
Lyle Lascelles.
He was preceded in death by his
maternal grandmother, Ruby Lascelles, and his paternal grandparents,
Ted Pettijohn and Nigal Patrick.
He was a member of Lincoln Southern
Baptist Church.
Memorials
may be made to his children’s education fund.

Paul Bunch
Paul F. Bunch, 90, of
San Jose died at 5:25 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2002, at his home.
His funeral will be
at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, at Hurley Funeral Home in San Jose, with
Chaplain Ron Little officiating. Visitation will be one hour before
the service.
Burial will be in
Green Hill Cemetery, rural San Jose.
Bunch farmed for 15
years in Fulton County, retired from Caterpillar in Mapleton, and
owned and operated Bunch Produce in Ipava.
He was born July 28,
1911, in Cuba, Ill., to Walter F. and Carrie E. Smith Bunch. He
married Pauline Shipp on Sept. 3, 1930, in Galesburg. She survives.
Also surviving are
one son, David (and Kazi) Bunch of North Highland, Calif.; two
daughters, Charlotte (and Darold) Lynn of San Jose and Elaine
Villarica of Roseville, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 18
great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister,
Helen Tarvin of Havana.
He was preceded in
death by a sister, a grandson and one son, Dudley Bunch.
He attended Delavan
Baptist Church.
Memorial

James Stauffer
James Allen Stauffer, 62, of Beason
died at 9:55 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2002, at the Noah Stauffer Sr.
homestead, Chestnut.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m.
Tuesday, June 18, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount
Pulaski.
Graveside services will be at 10:30
a.m. Wednesday at Mount Pulaski Cemetery, with the Rev. Carol
Andricks officiating.
Stauffer was a real estate agent and
farmer.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was born July 17, 1939, in Lincoln
to Noah and Jessie Gladys Smitley Stauffer Sr. He married Shirley
Jean Newell on June 4, 1960, in Chestnut.
The family includes six daughters,
Jacqueline Taylor of El Paso, Jessie (and Tim) Butler of El Paso,
Jamie (and Scott) Johnston of Chestnut, Cassie (and Patrick) Hewitt
of Atlanta, Patricia (and Josh) Witkowski of Loami and Renee
Stauffer of Lincoln; one son, Dan (and Terri) Rusk of Athens; 16
grandchildren; one brother, Noah (and Pauline) Stauffer Jr. of
Chestnut; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his
parents.
Stuaffer was owner of County Line Real
Estate, a lifelong farmer in the Chestnut and Beason area, and was
the retired Beason fire chief. He was a lifelong member of Chestnut
United Methodist Church, served on the board of the Logan County
Paramedic Association and was a retired EMT from the Beason Rescue
Squad.
He was a dearly loved husband, father
and grandfather; his grandchildren thought the world of him.

Fire Department and Rescue Squad, or the Chestnut United Methodist
Church.

Pearl Beverman
Pearl C. Beverman,
94, of Lincoln died at 9:58 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2002, at Maple
Ridge Care Centre.
Her funeral will be
at 1 p.m. Monday, June 17, at Holland and Barry Funeral Home.
Visitation will be one hour before the service.
Burial will be in New
Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Mrs. Beverman was an
LPN and had worked at Deaconess Hospital, St. Clara’s Nursing Home,
Mary Henry Nursing Home and the Christian Nursing Home in Lincoln.
She was born Jan. 15,
1906, in Logan County to Louie and Katie Zurkhammer Stolz. She
married Harry "Speed" Beverman on Oct. 16, 1924, in Lincoln. He died
May 1, 1949.
Surviving Mrs.
Beverman are one granddaughter, Rochelle Parr of Mason City, and two
great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded
in death by her daughter, Phyllis Newman, four sisters and two
brothers.
She was a member of
Lincoln Christian Church, the Yadnus Class of the church and the
Chester Woman’s Club.
Memorials may be made to her church or to
the Christian Nursing Home.
