Hazel Craig

Hazel I. Craig, 88, of Waynesville died at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Crestview Healthcare Center, Clinton.

Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta. The Rev. Al Simonson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Waynesville.

Mrs. Craig was retired from Lincoln Developmental Center.

She was born May 25, 1914, at Minier, to Hugo and Lettey McGinnis Pleines. She married Fred A. Craig on April 13, 1936, in Bloomington. He died Nov. 6, 1991.

Surviving are five children, Wayne (and Judy) Craig of Artesia, Calif., Carol (and Steve) La Dew of Waynesville, Kenneth Craig of McLean, Russel (and Rose Ann) Craig of Waynesville and Alan (and Margie) Craig of Waynesville; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Lila Keller, Ann Hubbs and Vera Wheeler, all of Bloomington, and Viola Mitchell of St. Paris, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Craig was a 52-year member of the Waynesville United Methodist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church or to the Waynesville Library.
