Jason Langenbahn

Jason Langenbahn, 23, of Lenexa, Kan., formerly of Lincoln, died at 11:19 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002, in an automobile accident on a Route 121 curve north of Mount Pulaski.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the rosary at 3:45 p.m.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Thomas Taylor officiating.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lincoln.

Langenbahn was a recent graduate of Eastern Illinois University, where he received a degree in journalism.

He was born Feb. 28, 1979, in Lincoln to Jerald and Janet Ruenzi Langenbahn.

Surviving are his parents; two sisters, Christy (and Ryan) Colerick of Lenexa, Kan., and Julie Langenbahn of Jacksonville; and his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Ruenzi of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Joe Ruenzi, and his paternal grandparents, Howard and Jenetta Langenbahn.

He was a member of Holy Family Church in Lincoln and a graduate of Lincoln Community High School.

He enjoyed music, writing, tennis and photography.

Memorials may be made to the journalism department at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston or to Carroll Catholic School or Holy Family Church of Lincoln.
