Lending agency not authorized by state

[DEC. 8, 2003]  SPRINGFIELD -- Commissioner D. Lorenzo Padrón of the Illinois Office of Banks and Real Estate issued a special alert Dec. 5 warning citizens that the following entity may be conducting a banking operation in Illinois without legal authorization:

Atlantic Bank and Trust

2548 W. Golf Road

Hoffman Estates, IL 60194

1 (800) 339-2906

The Office of Banks and Real Estate has not granted a state charter to this entity, nor does this institution have the authority to operate or purport to operate a banking business in Illinois. Consumers should avoid being involved in any transactions involving this entity.

Cosnumers are encouraged to contact the Office of Banks and Real Estate at (217) 785-2900 or by electronic mail at banks@bre.state.il.us with any information regarding the purported business operations of Atlantic Bank and Trust.
