Alma Cross

Alma J. Cross, 101, of Emden died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at 12:15 p.m. at the Christian Village in Lincoln.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Emden, with the Rev. David L. Hofer and the Rev. Frank Peiper officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday and one hour before the service on Monday.

Burial will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Cross was a homemaker.

She was born Jan. 22, 1902, in Emden to Edward and Anna Bruns Conklen. She married William C. Cross in Emden on Sept. 3, 1924, and he died Oct. 3, 1975.

Surviving are one daughter, Betty Ann (and Leonard) Krusemark of Emden; two sons, William W. (and Frances) Cross of Emden and Gene L. (and Wanda) Cross of Emden; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one brother, George (and Donna) Conklen of Sherman; and one sister-in-law, Margot Cross of Lincoln.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers, one sister, one daughter and two grandsons.

She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid of the church and the Good Samaritans Society.

Mable Kisinger

Mable Ely Kisinger, 69, formerly of Bedford, Ohio, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at 4:06 a.m. at Krause Retirement Home in Lincoln.

Her funeral was Friday morning at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, preceded by visitation.

Burial is in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.

She had been an assembler for Alert Stamping Factory in Bedford, Ohio, before retiring in 2000.

She was born May 14, 1933, in Lexington to Raymond and Bertha Gandy Ely.

Surviving are one son, Michael Kisinger of Stoneville, N.C.; two brothers, Kenneth (and Marlene) Ely of Lincoln and Donald (and Judy) Ely of Cleveland, Tenn.; and one sister, Alma (and Charles Robert) Dunham of Lincoln.

She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

She was a member of Broadwell Christian Church.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
