Sesquicentennial call for volunteers

[DEC. 26, 2002]  The Sesquicentennial Committee has been meeting for the last several months. Many things are under way, spoken for, begged for and promised.

The main thing we are desperately in need of is volunteers. We need people who can actually come in and do various jobs. We need all you folks who have music ability and would like to perform on a street comer or at a function. We will fill all the motels and would like to open their homes for an overnight stay. We will be spreading the news to the entire country, and we want them to go home knowing Logan County is wonderful place to visit and then pass the word along. We need vintage cars, street rods, horses, but especially we need You.

If you would like to be a part of this fun, dynamic and dedicated group of people who meet on the third Wednesday of the month, please call (217) 732-8687 or (217) 735-1612.

Thressia Usherwood, tourism director, publicity chairman

Beth Davis, Lincoln mayor, chairman of sesquicentennial
