Fay Dunn

Fay E. Dunn, 94, of Lincoln died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at 10:35 p.m. at the Christian Village Nursing Home.

She was cremated, and a graveside committal of ashes will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, at Harmony Cemetery, Beason, with the Rev. Jame Haas officiating.

There is no visitation.

Mrs. Dunn was a homemaker for her family.

She was born Jan. 28, 1908, in Effingham County to Jesse and Calla Dinwiddie Tichenor. She married Harold W. Dunn in Chicago on Aug. 7, 1927. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Barbara Raycraft of Lincoln; two sons, James E. Dunn of Redding, Calif., and Robert Dunn of Jacksonville, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lincoln.

 

LaVene Montgomery

LaVene Montgomery, 92, of Lincoln died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at 11 p.m. at the Christian Village.

She was cremated, and there will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Mrs. Montgomery was a teacher in Illinois schools before she retired in 1959.

She was born Feb. 11, 1910, near Atlanta in Logan County to Clarence and Rose Conover Leach. She married Avery Lee Montgomery on July 10, 1944, in Poplar Bluff, Mo. He died June 15, 1966.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. She was the last of her immediate family.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lincoln, Lincoln Woman's Club, Eastern Star, Christian Village Auxiliary and a life member of the National Education Association.

Memorials may be made to the Christian Village.
