Anna Spaits
Anna Marie Spaits, 82, of Lincoln died
Monday, March 24, 2003, at 3:30 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in
Springfield.
Visitation was on
Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Her funeral was
Thursday morning at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, with the Rev. Dan Wissmann
officiating.
Burial will be in Hartsburg Union
Cemetery.
Mrs. Spaits retired after 25 years as a
nurse's aide at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 28, 1920, in the
Beason area to William and Leona Rankin Steinhour. She married
Franklin Spaits on Dec. 21, 1940, in St. Louis, Mo. He died Nov.
14, 1991.
Surviving are one daughter, Andra Kay
(and Marvin) Lessen of Lincoln; three grandchildren; Teresa (and
Earle) Cagle of Edinburg, Jeffery (and Jackie) Lessen of Lincoln and
Jacob (and Kristin) Lessen of Lincoln; four great-grandchildren,
Jeremy and Jillian Cagle and Jonathan and Joseph Lessen; one sister,
Thelma Weeks of Grangeville, Idaho; and two stepbrothers, Omar
Seefeldt and Burnell Seefeldt, both of California.
Mrs. Spaits was a member of Immanuel
Lutheran Church of Lincoln, Eagles Auxiliary 2708 and The Oasis
senior center.

Margaret 'Peg' Worth
Margaret "Peg" Worth
died Sunday, March 16, 2003, at 3:30 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center
in Springfield.
A memorial service
will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in
Lincoln, with the Rev. Henry Cox officiating. Visitation will be an
hour before the service.
Burial of cremains
will be in Richmond Grove Cemetery, New Holland.
Mrs. Worth was
employed by the Illinois secretary of state for 34 years before she
retired in 1973. She lived in Springfield for many years before her
marriage, when she moved to New Holland.
She was born May 27,
1913, in Edinburg to Richard and Marie Driskell Lowe. She married
Glen Worth on Oct. 6, 1955, in Springfield.
Surviving are one
stepson, Thomas (and Jan) Worth of Lake in the Hills; a
stepgranddaughter, Lori (and Butch) Brown of Clarksville, Tenn.; two
step-great-grandsons; one sister, Nellie Rescho of Springfield; two
nieces, Linda (and Harold) Whitworth of Nashville and Patti Fricke
of Springfield; and several nephews.
She was preceded in
death by a stepson, Brem Worth, and a sister, Darliene Youngberg.
She was a member of
the First United Methodist Church of Middletown and the women's
organization of the church, the New Holland Women's Club, The Oasis
senior citizens of Lincoln, and the Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital Auxiliary. She was a volunteer at the hospital for many
years.
She was a graduate of
Springfield High School and Illinois Business College.

Carl
Hackl
Carl L. Hackl, 86, of
Lincoln died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at 11:42 a.m. at the Christian
Village.
Visitation was on Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home
in Lincoln.
His funeral will be
at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, with Tim Searby
officiating.
Burial will be in
Union Cemetery.
Mr. Hackl was a
retired cement mason.
He was a U.S. Army
sergeant in World War II.
He was born Oct. 27,
1916, in Lincoln to Alvin and Effie Swingle Hackle. He married
Louise Miers on Nov. 27, 1939, in Indiana. She survives.
He was preceded in
death by one sister and two brothers and was the last of his
immediate family.
Memorials may be made to the Christian
Village.

Janice Smith
Janice J. Smith, 76, of Lincoln died
Sunday, March 23, 2003, at 11 a.m. at St. Frances Hospital in
Peoria.
Her body was dedicated to medical
science.
A memorial service was
Thursday morning at Holland and Barry in Lincoln, with Pastor Greg Mason
officiating.
Mrs. Smith was a supervisory registered
nurse at Lincoln Developmental Center for 30 years. She retired in
1992.
She was born Jan. 18, 1927, in Decatur
to Arthur and Merle McHon Hahn. She married Robert Ray Smith on Aug.
19, 1950, in Decatur. He died Oct. 8, 1980.
Surviving
are one daughter, Martha Smith of Bloomington; one son, Sean Smith
of Peoria; three grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan and Haley Smith of
Pekin; and one brother, William Robert Hahn of Springfield.
