The Logan County Local
Emergency Planning Committee and Logan County Health Department, in
conjunction with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, are
sponsoring a husehold hazardous waste collection day. The
collection is for household waste only. Agriculture, business, city,
county or industrial wastes will not be accepted.

This one-day event will take place on
Saturday, Oct. 4, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Logan County
Fairgrounds. Please enter the fairgrounds from the south entrance on
Short 11th St. only.
Acceptable wastes
- Oil-base paints
- Paint thinners
- Herbicides
- Insecticides
- Pesticides
- Old gasoline
- Pool chemicals
- Cleaning products
- Mercury
- Household batteries
- Used motor oil
- Drain cleaners
- Lawn chemicals
- Solvents
- Antifreeze
- Hobby chemicals
- Aerosol paints and pesticides
- Fluorescent lamp bulbs
