LINCOLN -- Elbert A. "Mick" Davis Jr., 68, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at 7:20 a.m. at his home.

A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at New Union Cemetery. The Rev. R. Anthony Lee will officiate and military rites will be conducted.

There is no visitation.

Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Mr. Davis was a supervisor at Lincoln Developmental Center before he retired.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was born July 18, 1936, in Lincoln to Elbert A. and Evelyn C. "Sally" Stone Davis. He married Juanita F. Davis on June 19, 1960, at Grand Junction, Colo. She died Feb. 17, 2005.

He is survived by one brother, Jim (and Shirley) Davis of Lincoln, and one sister, Betty (and Tom) Larson of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Joann Gable; and one nephew, Troy Larson.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Louis Hasenmyer

LINCOLN -- Louis Hasenmyer, 90, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at 5:35 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Kurt Walker officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery.

Mr. Hasenmyer farmed in Aetna Township before he retired.

He was born Jan. 26, 1915, at Lincoln to George and Anna Howland Hasenmyer. He married (Anna) Ruth Howland on April 18, 1939, at Bowling Green, Mo. She died Oct. 3, 1991.

He is survived by two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hasenmyer of Springfield and Helen Hasenmyer of Lincoln; one niece, Linda (and Kevin) Kennedy of Beltsville, Md.; and one nephew, Carl (and Maristela) Hasenmyer of Evans, Ga.

He was the last of his immediate family and was preceded in death by two brothers.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lincoln and the Logan County Farm Bureau.

Steven Westen

EMDEN -- Steven L. Westen, 54, of Emden, died Monday, April 4, 2005, at 10:05 p.m. at St. John's Hospice in Springfield.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Zion United Methodist Church in Emden, with Pastor Dayle Eldredge officiating.

Burial will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery, Hartsburg.

Mr. Westen was a self-employed carpenter in Emden and in Naples, Fla.

He was born Dec. 25, 1950, in Lincoln.

He is survived by his mother, Irene A. Westen of Emden; two uncles and aunts, Eldon and Anna Westen of Emden and Loren and Shirley Westen of Emden; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Memorials may be made to Emden Rescue Squad or the American Cancer Society.

Vivian Harris

LINCOLN -- Vivian K. Harris, 64, of Lincoln, died Monday, April 4, 2005, at 12:01 p.m. at her son's home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, with Jacob Skelton officiating.

Burial will be in Irish Grove Cemetery, Middletown.

Mrs. Harris retired from Myers Industries in Lincoln, where she was a laminate cutter.

She was born Aug. 24, 1940, in Lincoln to Lewis Merle and Kathryn E. Banister Voyles She married Rolie Conway Harris in Lincoln on June 4, 1959. He died July 24, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her mother, of Lincoln; two sons, Ronald "Joe" (and Cindy) Harris of Lincoln and Terry Harris of Ina; four daughters, Rhonda Mattingly, Darla (and Mark) Musick, Vicki Harris and Valerie Harris, all of Lincoln; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Merle "Abe" Voyles of Lincoln; and one sister, Ruby (and Harold) Swinford of Hartsburg.

She was a member of Carpenters Local 644.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Illinois.

MASON CITY -- John Lynn Leininger, 41, of Mason City, died Sunday, April 3, 2005, at 4:14 a.m. in Tazewell County.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City, with Nash Shawgo officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour before the service.

Burial will be in Mason City Cemetery.

Mr. Leininger was employed by Morton Buildings in Morton as a construction worker.

He served in the Army National Guard Reserves.

He was born Jan. 8, 1964, in Lincoln to Harold and Mary Lou Sanderson Leininger.

He is survived by his mother; two sons, Nova and Garrett Leininger, both of Mason City; two sisters, Teresa (and Dave) Scott of Marathon, Fla., and Penny (and Gary) Fink of Lincoln; and Rachel Manuel, the mother of his children, with whom he made his home.

He was preceded in death by his father, two uncles and one cousin.

Memorial contributions to an education fund for his sons may be made through the First State Bank of Mason City.

LINCOLN -- Sonya Alice Twist, 16, of Lincoln, died Sunday, April 3, 2005, at 3:37 a.m. at St. John's Hospital in Springfield following an automobile crash Saturday night.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 11, at Lincoln Christian Church.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, at the church, with Tracy Thomas officiating.

A graveside service at Union Cemetery, Washington, Ill., will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 12.

Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln handled arrangements.

Sonya was a sophomore at Lincoln Community High School.

She was born Dec. 21, 1988, in Manila, Philippine Islands, to Matthew and (Bae) Sun Il Twist.

She is survived by her father, of Lincoln; her mother, of Lincoln; her maternal grandmother, Sun Jun Kim of Korea; her paternal grandmother, Violet Krause of Lincoln; four uncles and one aunt in Korea; two uncles in the U.S., Bob (and Donna) Twist of Elkhart and Milo (and Sherry) Twist of Washington, Ill.; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather.

Her high school activities included jazz band, marching band, concert band, pep band, chorus, madrigals, IME district band, Bradley University honor band for freshman and sophomores, musical, Fine Arts Club, French Club, Thespians, winter play "The Boys Next Door," group interpretation and performance in the round with the speech team, Halloween Spectacular, tennis, soccer, and track.

She was in the first division in French horn and piano at solo-ensemble contest and placed first in vocal solo. She also auditioned for the Chicago Symphony.

She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church, where she participated in the youth group, Good News Publishing Company, drama ministry team, inner-city mission team, Dominican mission team and T.R.A.S.H.
