[APRIL 6, 2005]  It wasn't your everyday occurrence but one that officers are prepared for. Tuesday morning at 8:10 Illinois State Police Trooper Kelly Walter heard the call put out over the communications radio by District 9 dispatchers -- woman in labor in a 2005 Chevy truck on Interstate 72 eastbound at Milepost 86.

Trooper Walter arrived at the scene in time to assist Douglas A. Pennock with the delivery of his son, John D. Pennock.

When New Berlin EMS arrived they took over attendance of the family. Dianna L. Pennock and son were then transported to St. John's Hospital by American Ambulance.
