State fingerspelling bee scheduled       Send a link to a friend

[APRIL 8, 2005]  SPRINGFIELD -- The Illinois Deaf and Hard of Hearing Commission is hosting the eighth annual Deaf Illinois Fingerspelling Bee on April 25 in the auditorium of the Illinois Building on the Illinois State Fairgrounds.

Registration will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m., and the fingerspelling bee will start at 10 a.m.

Those attending should enter through the Main Gate of the fairgrounds, Eighth and Sangamon, and go to the first building on the left.

The event is sponsored by Illinois Telecommunications Access Corp., the Chicago's Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities, Sprint, Springfield Center for Independent Living and the Illinois Association of the Deaf, along with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Commission.
