Families invited to bicycle Logan County

Fall park district notes          Send a link to a friend

[AUG. 10, 2005]  Lincoln Park District will host a family-oriented, noncompetitive bike tour of Logan County on Aug. 20. Participants will leave from the park district facilities on Primm Road between 8 and 8:30 a.m. Sag support will be offered along the route, as well as a bicycle inspection before the trip.

There will be two well-marked routes. The longer route is nearly 30 miles, and the shorter route is approximately 20 miles. Winding through the country, with Elkhart as the farthest stop, the longer route will return through Broadwell and finish back at the Lincoln Park District headquarters. Scenic Logan County, downtown Elkhart, Route 66 and the Pig Hip Museum, along with some historic Lincoln-related sites, are featured in the plans.

Water, fruit, restrooms and cooling areas will be provided at Elkhart and Broadwell. Additional items will be available for purchase. Plans are to include a light lunch before you have the opportunity to go swimming.

The cost is $15 per person or $35 per family. A daily pool-use pass is included.
