BLOOMINGTON -- Robert M. Prather, 45, of Bloomington died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005, at 3:10 p.m. at BroMenn Regional Medical Center in Normal.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta, with the Rev. John L. Horner officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial of cremains will be in Atlanta Cemetery.

He was born Feb. 4, 1960, at Lincoln to Everett J. and Minnie L. Miller Prather.

He is survived by one son, Jared M. Prather of Normal; one daughter, Megan (and Justin) Morefield of Normal; five brothers, Don (and Pat) Prather of East Peoria, Gary Prather of Pocahontas, Ark., Randy (and Karen) Prather of Springfield, Marvin (and Alice) Prather of Creve Coeur and Rick (and Brenda) Prather of McLean; three sisters, Carolyn (and Roger) Marten of Lincoln, Sharon (and Jim) Applegate of Atlanta and Connie (and Dexter) Sheff of Panama City, Fla.; and one grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Marvin Wiggers

LINCOLN -- Marvin Eldon Wiggers, 77, of Lincoln, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, at 6:37 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

His funeral was Tuesday morning at the First United Methodist Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Jame Hahs officiating. Visitation was on Monday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln and for an hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.

Burial was in Hartsburg Union Cemetery, with military rites performed at the grave site.

Mr. Wiggers was a lifelong farmer at Beason.

He proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War, acting as head scrub nurse of surgery.

He was born May 31, 1928, in Lincoln to Frederick Sr. and Wilhelmina Englehorn Wiggers. He married Ruth Tunila Awe on Sept. 21, 1968, in Lincoln.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth, of Lincoln; two daughters, Amy Wiggers-Chen (and husband Nathan) of Peoria and Karen Sandel (and husband John) of Lincoln; one son, Kevin Wiggers (and wife Carrie) of Indianapolis, Ind.; one stepson, Bobby Awe of Lincoln; two sisters, Katharina "Kak" Goldhammer of Lincoln and Thelma Matson (and husband Jack) of Lincoln; one brother, Milton Wiggers (and wife Pat) of Springfield; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Gregory and Kinsley Chen, all of Peoria, Shannon Doolin of Emden, Matthew Sandel of McHenry, Israel and Christian Sandel, both of Lincoln, Courtney Awe, serving her country in Hawaii, and Clint Awe of Lincoln; two great-grandchildren, Grace Doolin of Emden and Madison Sandel of McHenry; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Eileen Wiggers and Mildred Wiggers-Johnson; and two brothers, Frederick Wiggers Jr. and Kendall Wiggers.

Mr. Wiggers was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lincoln, American Legion Post 262 and VFW Post 1756.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
