Lincoln's Birthday to be celebrated at Postville       Send a link to a friend

[FEB. 1, 2005]  Postville Courthouse on Fifth Street will host Lincoln's Birthday observances on Feb. 12 from noon to 4 p.m. Period music, quilting and displays of Lincoln artifacts await visitors to the site. Birthday cake and punch will also be served. The event is free and open to the public

Postville Express will provide toe-tapping period music. Also, Dale Evans from Bloomington will entertain with his nyckelharpa and ukelin.

Local quilters will offer hand-quilting demonstrations.

Artifacts related to Abraham Lincoln's days as a circuit-riding attorney will be on display.

At 1:30 and 3 p.m. Guy Fraker, a Bloomington attorney and author with a lifelong interest in Abraham Lincoln, will speak in the second-floor courtroom about Lincoln in Logan County. Fraker has written "Our Link to Lincoln" and "Lincoln in Logan."
