LINCOLN -- James L. Harp, 88,
of Lincoln, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, at 2:20 p.m. at
Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7
p.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln.
His funeral will be at 10:30
a.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, with Bill Boice
officiating.
Burial will be in Irish Grove
Cemetery, Middletown.
Mr. Harp farmed in Logan and
Mason counties before he retired.
He was born Dec. 23, 1916, at
Middletown to John and Nellie Raber Harp. He married Wilma
Stone in 1935, and she died in 1981. He married Leta Rice in
1984, and she died in 1986.

LINCOLN -- Althea Hilscher,
92, of Lincoln, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at 9 p.m. at
Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
There will be no visitation.
Her body will be cremated, and a memorial Mass will be at a
later date.
Burial will be in Mount
Calvary Cemetery, Seneca.
Arrangements are being handled
by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Mrs. Hilscher was a bookkeeper
at Plut's Tin Shop in Lincoln before she retired.
She was born Feb. 7, 1912, at
Seneca to John Joseph and Gertrude Cushing Domm. She married
Noel Hilscher on July 12, 1943, at Seneca. He died March 6,
1990.
She is survived by one nephew,
Don (and Mary) Hilscher of Lincoln.
She was also preceded in death
by one brother.
She was a member of Holy
Family Church in Lincoln.

ATLANTA -- Harley W. Beck Jr.,
67, of Atlanta, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at Spohn Memorial
Hospital, Beeville, Texas.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7
p.m. Wednesday at Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta. His funeral
will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be on Thursday
afternoon in Snapp Memorial Garden, Forsyth, Mo.
Mr. Beck retired in 1990 from
General Electric Company in Bloomington, where he worked in
the maintenance department.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was born Aug. 29, 1937, at
Amana, Iowa, to Harley and Lowesa Chase Beck Sr. He married
Carol "Bonny" Paul on Sept. 16, 1977, at Shirley. She died
Sept. 14, 2002.
He is survived by six
children, Harley Dean (and Stephanie) Beck of Mason City,
Ronnie (and Cathy) Beck of Lincoln, Becky (and Raymie) Burger
of Lincoln, Karen (and Don) Beck of Lawndale, Gladys (and
Chuck) Williams of Atlanta and Steve Beck of Atlanta; two
stepsons, Alan (and Lynn) Paul of Bellevue, Neb., and Greg
(and Lisa) Paul of Bloomington; one stepdaughter, Lisa (and
Ed) Birk of Lawndale; 28 grandchildren; 13
great-grandchildren; three brothers, Arthur Beck of Forsyth,
Mo., Charley Beck of Kirbyville, Mo., and James Beck of Pekin;
two sisters, Jane Doolin of Atlanta and Madonna York of
Bloomington; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death
by his parents, two sons, one brother, two sisters and one
grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be
made to the Beck family.

LINCOLN -- Eleanor Wertin, 86,
of Lincoln, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, at 11:20 p.m. at St.
Clara's Manor.
Her body was cremated.
A graveside service will be at
1 p.m. Tuesday at New Union Cemetery, with the Rev. Mark
Carnahan officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home of Lincoln handled arrangements.
Mrs. Wertin was a retired
bookkeeper.
She was born Oct. 29, 1918, in
Springfield to Oscar and Lydia Yagow Lenz. She married Matthew
Wertin on Jan. 4, 1942, in Lincoln.
She is survived by her
husband, of Lincoln, and one daughter, Jan (and Roby) Parks of
Springfield.
A son preceded her in death.
She was a member of Zion
Lutheran Church in Lincoln and the Lincoln Woman's Club.
