To the editor:
Thank you to those who were there for us
I would like to thank Christopher and Lesleigh Bennett, owners
and funeral directors for both Bennett Funeral Home and Holland and
Barry Funeral Home. Holland and Barry Funeral Home's slogan is
"Continuing the Tradition," and Christopher and Lesleigh are
carrying on the tradition of this funeral home and have added some
additional options that will become new traditions for families to
remember for years to come.
My husband, Brian Nelson, died July 3, and both of them were
wonderful and kind-hearted to assist our family in this time of
need. I cannot even count the number of phone calls family members
made to either Christopher or Lesleigh to ask a question or make a
request for Brian's memorial service. We made numerous last-minute
changes to the memorial service. The Bennetts calmly and willingly
accommodated all of our requests, as well as provided additional
services that added a special touch. For instance, they prepared a
customized program book that they created and printed for the
memorial service. We wanted to have a slide show of photos to honor
Brian and numerous songs played during the memorial service. They
handled all of this for us flawlessly. Lincoln is fortunate to have
Christopher and Lesleigh Bennett, a new generation of funeral
directors, in our community who are here to provide a service to the
community.

I would also like to thank all of the people who attended the
memorial service, sent flowers and plants, called family members and
friends to offer their condolences, coordinated the meal after the
memorial service, brought food to family members and friends, and
did many other kind things for all of us.
Kim Nelson
