After the presentation of colors by
Mount Pulaski American Legion Post 447, opening remarks were given
by Kristen Oglesby. Korey Letterle led the Pledge of Allegiance. The
high school band and chorus participated in the ceremony, and the
senior class presented a slide show. Principal Russell Galusha
presented the graduating class. Closing remarks were given by Megan
Allspach. Mallory Clements,
Vance Knauer and Jeremy Ott were named valedictorians of the
graduating class.
Mallory Clements
Mallory is the daughter of Jeff and
Susan Clements of Mount Pulaski. She has been a member of the Drama
Club, student council, National Honor Society, prom committee, and
Junior Engineering Technical Society design team. She was named to
"Who's Who Among American High School Students," was named an
Illinois State Scholar and Prairie State Scholar, was named to the
"Top Ten" at Mount Pulaski High School, and was Senior of the Month
in November. She received awards for Outstanding Calculus Student,
Outstanding Physical Education Student and Outstanding Advanced
Biology Student. She was a member of the award-winning Lady 'Toppers
volleyball team and has received a full volleyball scholarship at
Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville and a Mount Pulaski Rotary
Club scholarship. She plans to major in business administration.
Vance Knauer
Vance is the son of Gary and Judy
Knauer of Mount Pulaski. He was named January Senior of the Month,
Senior of the Year and was named to the "Top Ten." He is an Illinois
State Scholar and Prairie State Scholar. He received the Vera Zarrow
Scholarship, the David Cates Memorial Scholarship, a National FFA
Scholarship, a Mount Pulaski Education Association Scholarship and a
Star Agri-Science Student award. He plans to attend the University
of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana.
Jeremy Ott
Jeremy is the son of Diana Ott of
Elkhart and Randal Ott of Gardner, Kan. Jeremy is an Illinois State
Scholar and a Prairie State Scholar. He received the Outstanding
English IV award, Outstanding Physics Student award and the Senior
Science Award. He has participated in football, concert and marching
band, Science Olympiad, Scholastic Bowl, and has been a member of
the National Honor Society, Junior Engineering Technical Society
design team, the Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering Academic
Challenge team, student council, yearbook staff and prom committee.
He is an active member of the Elkhart Christian Church. He has
received a Presidential Scholarship to Bradley University and a John
Deere engineering scholarship from the Society of Automotive
Engineers.

"Straight A" awards were presented
to Maggy Gleason and Molly Gleason, daughters of Rob and Nina
Gleason of Elkhart, in recognition of academic excellence. Maggy and
Molly will be attending Illinois State University.
