meats judging state contest

URBANA -- The 4-H meats judging team from Logan
County placed third out of seven counties participating in the
recent state contest at the University of Illinois Meat Science Lab.
Team members were Mathew Runyon, David Fulton and Daniel Fulton.

There were 19 contestants participating. David Fulton placed
fifth and Mathew Runyon placed 10th as individuals. Team
members placed retail cuts, primal cuts, carcasses and
identified 30 cuts of meat.
The team is coached by Don Miller of the Logan County
Extension office.
