A 1999 graduate of Lincoln Community
High School, where he participated in wrestling and soccer for four
years and as a kickoff man for the football team during his senior
year, Mauhar has been the coach of the LCHS girls soccer team for
the past four years. During his tenure the program has shown a great
deal of progress, coming from a team that did not win a game for two
years to a competitive force this current season. His current team
has set several records, including the most wins and the most
shutouts in school history.
A 2004 graduate of Lincoln Christian
College and Seminary, he participated four years as a "sweeper" for
the soccer team.
When asked about his hopes, dreams
and goals as the new coach, Mauhar stated that he wants to be
competitive as LCCS now enters NCAA Division III, hopes to instill a
team camaraderie, build a loyal fan base and attract players who are
interested is giving themselves to some form of Christian ministry
and also love the game of soccer.
Having played with some of his
returning players, Mauhar realizes that he must assume a different
relationship and is hoping to challenge the senior players to act as
role models as they give leadership to the younger players.
