LINCOLN -- Rick D. Bridges, 53, of Lincoln, died Monday,
May 16, 2005, at 9:50 p.m. at St. Clara's Manor.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev.
Robert Henderson officiating. Visitation will be one hour
prior to the service.
Mr. Bridges owned Sundance Metaphysical Bookstore in
Springfield.
He was born March 3, 1952, in
Lincoln to Carl J. and Neva F. Robbins Bridges Sr.
He is survived by his mother,
of Lincoln; three brothers, Roger (and Vicki) Bridges of New
Smyrna Beach, Fla., Randy (and Tina) Bridges of Atlanta and
Rodney (and Janice) Bridges of Hartsburg; one sister, Debbie
Carter of Lincoln; and a close friend, Joe Davis of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by
his father.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Illinois or the
American Cancer Society.

MOUNT PULASKI -- Marjorie D. Lowe Marquis, 89, of Mount
Pulaski, died Monday, May 16, 2005, at 2:20 p.m. at her home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. Her
funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with
the Rev. Carol Andricks and the Rev. Steven Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.
Mrs. Marquis was a housekeeper at Vonderlieth Living Center
before she retired.
She was born Dec. 19, 1915, in rural Kenney to Ernest and
Tena Severs Donnan. She married Lawrence Lowe in Clinton on
Feb. 25, 1937. He died Oct. 9, 1971. She married Elmer Marquis
in Springfield on May 20, 1978, and he died Jan. 13, 2000.
She is survived by two daughters, Janice Howe of Mount
Pulaski and Joyce (and Jerry) Maxheimer of Mount Pulaski; four
grandchildren, Robin (and Warren) Ray of Mars Hill, N.C.,
Tammy (and Kevin) Holmes of Bloomington, Julie (and Tim)
Milner of Mount Pulaski and Doug (and Angie) Maxheimer of
Mount Pulaski; 15 great-grandchildren; two
great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold (and Helen)
Donnan of Lincoln; and two sisters, Evelyn Bateman of Lincoln
and Edna (and Jim) Strachan of Chestnut.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Donald
Donnan and Alvin Donnan; one sister, Doris Baldwin; and one
grandson, Tony Howe.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of
Mount Pulaski.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church
of Mount Pulaski, St. John's Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski
or Hospice Care of Illinois.

LINCOLN -- Mary Louise Curry, 89, of Lincoln, formerly of
Elkhart and Bath, died Sunday, May 15, 2005, at 3:40 p.m. at
St. John's Hospice in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Her funeral
will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Jerry
Pippenger officiating.
Burial will be in Elkhart Cemetery.
Mrs. Curry was a retired clerk for the secretary of state.
She was born June 28, 1915, in Corwin Township, near
Middletown, to C.A. and Mary A. McCord Dobey. She married
Floyd O. Curry on Dec. 19, 1936, at Williamsville. He died
July 23, 1994.
She is survived by one daughter, Marlene (and Richard)
Lanterman of Elkhart; two sons, Robert Curry of Summerville,
S.C., and Gus (and Felecia) Curry of Bethany, Mo., six
grandchildren, Lisa (and Joe) Pelc of Sherman, Stacy Lanterman
of Elkhart, Steven (and Julie) Curry of Summerville, S.C.,
Mike (and Beth) Curry of Newberry, S.C., and Scott and Abby
Curry of Bethany, Mo.; six great-grandchildren, Christopher
Lanterman of Armington, Cory and Samantha Pelc of Sherman,
Adam and Logan Curry of Summerville, S.C., and Robbie Curry of
Newberry, S.C.; three sisters-in-law, Kathryn Dobey of Elkhart
and Elizabeth Dobey and Peg Dobey, both of Middletown; and
many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by an infant son and six
brothers. She was the last of her immediate family.
She was a member of Elkhart Christian Church.
Memorials may be made to her church or to St. John's
Hospice in Springfield.

LINCOLN -- Ramey M. French, 83, of Lincoln, died Sunday,
May 15, 2005, at 1:20 p.m. at OSF St. Francis Medical Center
in Peoria.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Park Meadows
Baptist Church, with the Rev. S.M. Davis officiating.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church.
Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln is handling
arrangements.
Mr. French retired from Lincoln Developmental Center after
35 years as a supervisor. He had also worked at Illiopolis
Munitions Plant and in his younger years as a farm hand.
He was born Nov. 1, 1921, in Buffalo, Ky., to Hayes and
Nellie McClaine French. He married Helen C. Dutz on April 4,
1950 in Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; one son, Paul Alan
(and Nancy) French of Lincoln; two grandsons, Adam (and Angel)
French of Lincoln and Nathan French of Lincoln; two
stepgrandchildren, Heidi (and Steve) Browne of Lincoln and
Andy Daugherty of Atlanta; one great-granddaughter, Ivory
French of Lincoln; three step-great-grandsons, Konnor, Karter
and Kannon Browne; two brothers, Jim (and Virginia) French of
Lincoln and Kenneth French of Normal; two sisters, Annabelle
French of Lincoln and Hazel Jones of Atlanta.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother,
Delmar French; and one sister, Thelma Damman.
He was a member of Park Meadows Baptist Church.
He was an avid fan of the Cardinals. He enjoyed walks with
his faithful companion, Buddy, in the trailer park.
He was a loving father and grandfather and husband of 55
years to Helen. His faith sustained him through his illness.

LINCOLN -- Morris W. Pettijohn,
64, of Lincoln, died Saturday, May 14, 2005, at 12:40 a.m. at
his home.
His funeral was Tuesday
morning at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader in Lincoln, with the Rev.
Dennis Shaw and Joel Beard officiating. Visitation was on
Monday at the funeral home.
Burial is in Zion
Cemetery.
Mr. Pettijohn was a retired
prison dietary supervisor.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was born Sept. 27, 1940, in
White County to Ted B. and Nigal Dutton Pettijohn. He married
Joyce Lascelles in Robinson on March 17, 1967.
He is survived by his wife of
Lincoln; one daughter, Amanda (and Woody) Franklin of Lincoln;
a daughter-in-law, Michelle Pettijohn of Lincoln; six
grandchildren; one sister, Hazel (and Charles) Horton of
Mountain Home, Ark.; two brothers, David Pettijohn of Peoria
and Mike Pettijohn of Norris City; and several cousins, nieces
and nephews.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; one son, Andrew; and two brothers.
He was a member of the
Southern Baptist Church.
He was a published songwriter
and a volunteer at The Oasis senior citizen center.
He was an avid checkers player
and a member of the American Checkers Association

LINCOLN -- Robert L. Myers
Jr., 66, of Lincoln, formerly of Kenney, died Saturday, May
14, 2005, at 12:10 a.m. at the Christian Nursing Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8
p.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln. His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the
funeral home, with the Rev. Jame Hahs officiating.
Burial will be in Holy Cross
Cemetery.
Mr. Myers was a lifelong
farmer in the Chestnut-Beason area and farmed with his son
Clint.
He was born Sept. 1, 1938, to
Robert L. and Dorothy Bicknell Myers Sr. He married Linda
Schmidt on Jan. 24, 1959, in Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife, of
Lincoln; two sons, Robert L. (and Gail) Myers of Morrison,
Colo., and Clint (and Angie) Myers Sr. of Chestnut; one
daughter, Denha (and Dean) Stansbury of Trenton; seven
grandchildren; and two sisters, Linda (and Leo) Hergenroder of
Gretna, Neb., and Betty Rodgers of Beason.
He was preceded in death by
his parents.
He was a member of the
Chestnut United Methodist Church and was a church officer.
He served on the school board
in Chestnut and was a director of Farmers Grain in Chestnut.
He enjoyed horseback riding,
snowmobiling and Case IH toys.

MASON CITY -- Carol R.
Wilcoxson, 77, formerly of Easton, died Friday, May 13, 2005,
at 11:45 p.m. at West Pasco Care Center, New Port Richie, Fla.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8
p.m. Wednesday at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City. Her
funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Mason City
Cemetery.
Mrs. Wilcoxson owned and
operated a beauty salon in rural Easton for 10 years. She
retired from employment with the state of Illinois in 1989
after 20 years of service.
She was born Oct. 21, 1927, in
Taylorville to Nelson and Edna Baker Oller. She married Carol
Wilcoxen on June 10, 1946, in Mount Pulaski.
She is survived by her
husband, of New Port Richie, Fla.; four sons, Carl Jr. (and
Carolyn) Wilcoxson of Knoxville, Bruce (and Eva) Wilcoxson of
Havana, Aaron (and Patricia) Wilcoxson of Easton and David
(and Lynn) Wilcoxson of Easton; and 22 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by
her parents and two brothers, James and Don Oller.
She was a member of St. John's
Lutheran Church of Topeka.
She had been a den mother for
Troop 177, Den 2 in Mason City and was a member of the
Magnolia Valley Golf and Civic Association in New Port Richie,
Fla.
Memorial contributions may be
made to St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Topeka.

LINCOLN -- George F.
Klockenga, 93, died Friday, May 13, 2005, at 11:15 p.m. at
the Christian Village.
His funeral was Tuesday morning at Immanuel Lutheran
Church, with Pastor Don Wissmann officiating. Visitation
preceded the service.
Burial is in Hartsburg Union Cemetery.
Mr. Klockenga farmed in Logan County for many years.
He was born Sept. 20, 1911, at Atlanta to Nanke and Tena
Conrady Klockenga. He married Irma Seefeldt on Aug. 21, 1934.
She died March 9, 1981. He married Florence Ruble on Nov. 24,
1983. She survives.
Other survivors are his children, Duane (and Kay) Klockenga
of Lincoln and Arlene Bratton of Zionsville, Ind.; one
stepdaughter, Gay Bowen of Lincoln; five grandchildren, Rhonda
Klockenga of Bloomington, Jodi Klockenga of Dallas, Texas,
Leslie Greenwood of Indianapolis, Ind., Vicki Hoffert of
Lincoln and Patrick Bratton of Indianapolis, Ind.; two
stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one
step-great-grandchild; one sister, Martha Sloan of Hartsburg;
and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Frank
Klockenga and Nanke Klockenga, and one stepgrandchild.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was a
former treasurer of the church. He had also served on the
school board in Broadwell.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Wayne
Schall Hospice.

LINCOLN -- Louis E. "Ted"
Smith, 91, of Lincoln, died Friday, May 13, 2005, at 8:20 p.m.
at St. John's Hospice in Springfield.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m.
Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln,
with the Rev. Jame Hahs officiating. Visitation will be from
noon until the service time. There will also be a Masonic
service at 1:45 p.m.
Burial will be in Zion
Cemetery.
Mr. Smith had been employed by
the state of Illinois as chief engineer at Lincoln
Developmental Center. He retired in 1979.
He was born May 17, 1913, at
McCormick to Wiley and Effie Warren Smith. He married Mary
Wainwright in Nashua, Iowa, on Oct. 15, 1938.
He is survived by his wife, of
Lincoln; two daughters, Lana (and Ron) Goldhammer of Lincoln
and Lynda Klockenga (and Bob Guy) of Lincoln; five
grandchildren, Craig (and Michele) Goldhammer, Chad (and
Bridgette) Goldhammer, Brent (and Emily) Klockenga, Blake (and
Natalie) Klockenga and Lindsay (and John) Ingram; and eight
great-grandchildren, Michael Goldhammer, Elizabeth Goldhammer,
Brandon Goldhammer, Brooke Goldhammer, Brady Klockenga,
Brendon Klockenga, Kortney Klockenga and Chelsea Klockenga.
One brother and one sister
preceded him in death.
He was a member of the First
United Methodist Church of Lincoln, Lincoln Lodge 210, Ansar
Shrine and Knights Templar of Springfield.
