[MAY 20, 2005]  EMDEN -- An evening accident on the Emden spur sent county finance chairman Chuck Ruben and the driver of another vehicle to Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital with injuries. Both victims were reportedly treated and released.

The accident occurred at 7 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of 2500th Street and 700th Avenue, southeast of Emden. Apparently a young male driving a truck missed a stop sign and hit Ruben, who was also driving a truck. Both vehicles landed in a field. An air bag deployed in the Ruben vehicle.

Further information on the accident is incomplete at this time.
