[NOV. 28, 2005]
ELKHART -- The annual Christmas candlelight
service in the historic stone chapel on Elkhart Hill will be on Dec.
3. The St. John the Baptist Chapel is more commonly referred to as
Gillett Chapel because it was built in memory of John Dean Gillett
in 1890. Three services will be offered. The first begins at 4 p.m.,
with additional services at 5:30 and 8 p.m.

The services will feature the return of the beloved Celtic
harpists Tanya Conrady and Maureen Douglas. The services will also
include a variety of mandolins, vocals, traditional readings and
traditional Christmas music that will help whisk you into the
wonderful Christmas season. Also, to welcome in the holiday season,
the chapel will be decorated with evergreens, holly and candles.
Admission for the event is $10 per person, with proceeds going to
both the Elkhart Historical Society and also to the chapel to help
cover maintenance costs.
