[OCT. 4, 2005]  Cara Slack is this year's recipient of the Dr. Edward Ulrich Memorial Scholarship at Lincoln College.

Slack, a sophomore, is a 2004 Lincoln Community High School graduate. She is currently studying general education classes and plans to continue her education at a four-year university after earning her degree at Lincoln College.

She is the daughter of Lloyd Slack and Junita Slack, both of Lincoln.

The scholarship was established by the Ulrich family in memory of Edward Ulrich, M.D., a longtime, well-known physician in Logan County area who gave countless hours to helping the well-being of others and was a friend of Lincoln College.

The new $1,000 scholarship assists the college with funding the annual commuter scholarships. It will be awarded annually to a local student who has graduated from a local high school, has a 3.0 grade-point average and shows financial need.
