LINCOLN -- Christopher L.
“Chris” Slack, 37, of Lincoln, Illinois went home to be with
the Lord Saturday, October 8, 2005 at home with his family.
A memorial gathering will be held 5-7 PM Wednesday, October
12, 2005 at Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln, Illinois.
Memorial Services will be 7:00 PM Wednesday, October 12,
2005 also at the funeral home with Pastor Joe Bennett
officiating.
Chris was born June 27, 1968 in Lincoln, Illinois to Lloyd
and Carol (Bryant) Slack. He married Karyl (Crawford)
February 27, 1995. He graduated Lincoln High School in 1986
and then went on to become a graduate of Lincoln College and
Illinois State University with a degree in Fine Arts.
He was employed by Lincoln Cinemas for several years, the
Department of Corrections in Lincoln and Pontiac Illinois,
and was the Circulation Manager for the Lincoln Courier for
10 years.
Chris was an active member of Kingdom Life Ministries, the
Vice President of the Board of Directors of Main Street
Lincoln, a member of Community Builders, and sat on the
board of Directors for Mental Health Centers of Illinois –
Logan / Mason Rehabilitation Center. .
He was involved in No Holds Barred Ultimate Fighting for
several years and studied Karate.

Maternal Grandmother Thelma Adams of Lincoln, Illinois
Wife Karyl Slack of Lincoln, Illinois
Daughters Krystina and Kathryn Slack both at home in
Lincoln, Illinois
Brother Corey (Diane) Slack of Lincoln, Illinois
Sister Cara Slack of Lincoln, Illinois
Sister Kimberly Coletto of Canyon Country, California
He was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents Roy
and Marjorie Slack and his Maternal Grandfather Wallace
Bryant.
Memorial donations may be made to Kingdom Life Ministries,
Sarcoma Foundation of America, or Wayne J. Schall Hospice
and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Teresa M. Anders, 46, Mt. Pulaski, formerly of Mt.
Auburn, Il
Teresa M. Anders, 46 of Mt. Pulaski, formerly of Mt. Auburn,
Il. died at 12:06 a.m. on Oct. 9th at Memorial Medical
Center, Springfield.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. on Wednesday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski, Il.
Services are set for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2005
at the funeral home.
Michael A. Smith will preside.
Interment is at Steenbergen Cemetery, rural Mt. Pulaski, Il.
Mrs. Anders was born in Lincoln on March 6, 1959 to Franklin
and Nancy Conoway Wilham. She married Bill Anders in Mt.
Pulaski, Il. on March 31, 1984.
She is survived by her husband Bill; one daughter, Nancy
Anders; three brothers, Dennis (Paula) Wilham of Mt.
Pulaski, Il., Dale (Bonnie) Wilham of Lincoln, Il., David
Wilham of Mt. Pulaski, Il.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Anders was a housewife and a member of Berea Christian
Church of Mt. Auburn, Il.

J Norman Stopher Sr., 62, of Mt. Pulaski, died at 10:58 a.m.
on October 8, 2005 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
A Memorial Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday October
13, 2005 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt.
Pulaski, Il. Bill Shanle will preside. There will be no
visitation.
Mr. Stopher was cremated. Interment will be in Steenbergen
Cemetery, Rural Mt. Pulaski, Il.
Mr. Stopher was born on March 30, 1943 to Charles and Beulah
Poffenbarger Stopher in Macon Co, Il.
He is survived by two sons, Oscar Lee (Deb) Stopher of
Alabama, J Norman Stopher Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; two
daughters, Gwen Stopher of Cornland, Kim (Joel) Brion of
Topeka, Kansas and two brothers, John (Elvira) Stopher of
Mt. Pulaski., Harold (Donna) Stopher of Hephzibah, Georgia.
He had six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Mr. Stopher was a retired farm worker and a member of
Buffalo Christian Church.

LINCOLN -- Wilma C. Wright, 72, of Lincoln died at Thursday,
Oct. 6, 2005, at 9 a.m. at her home.
A service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Craig
Smith officiating. There is no visitation.
Burial of cremains will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Cerro
Gordo Cemetery, Cerro Gordo.
Mrs. Wright was a clerk's assistant for the Lincoln city
clerk and the sewerage department. She retired in 1994.
She was born Oct. 31, 1932, in Decatur to Guy M. and Vada
Henricks Davidson. She married Ovid W. Wright on June 3,
1951, at Cerro Gordo.
She is survived by her husband of Lincoln; two sons, Todd
(and Leslie) Wright of Denton, Texas, and Lonn (and Barbara)
Wright of The Colony, Texas; one daughter, Lisa (and Jay)
Akers of Elkhart; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and
one brother and was the last of her immediate family.
She was a member of Jefferson Street Christian Church,
Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and American
Legion Post 263 Auxiliary.
Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or
Hospice Care of Illinois.

ATLANTA -- Roma Ballinger, 77, of rural Atlanta died
Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005, at 6:25 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Visitation was on Sunday at Quiram
Funeral Home.
Her funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Atlanta
United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Steve Anderson
officiating.
Burial is in Atlanta Cemetery.
Mrs. Ballinger was homemaker.
She was born Aug. 7, 1928, at New Holland to Herman and
Louise Dahm Bauer. She married Charles W. Ballinger on May
28, 1949, at Lincoln. He survives.
Other survivors are three daughters, Roma (and Richard)
Evans of Lockport, Marcia (and Robert) Pipp of Atlanta and
Charlise (and Greg) Morgan of Holly Springs, N.C.; one son,
Charles (and Judy) Ballinger of Atlanta; seven
grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Atlanta United Methodist Church
and the United Methodist Women.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
