Central Illinois magician heads back to school

CHATHAM -- Illinois magician Richard Landry
recently participated in a weeklong educational seminar designed to
incorporate his skills as a magician and communicator to conduct
school enrichment programs throughout central Illinois, Iowa,
Indiana and Missouri. The KIDabra seminar in Gatlinburg, Tenn.,
brought together entertainers and educators from all over the world.

Landry, a Chatham resident and member of the
International Brotherhood of Magicians, uses his entertaining,
audience-participation magic to bring important messages to children
in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. He offers 20 different
educational enrichment programs, including assemblies on reading,
respect and good citizenship. He also has a magic workshop for
beginners and a balloon-twisting workshop. Landry is an accomplished
magician and educator and has performed professionally for years.
