Caterpillar Foundation helps Lincoln College       Send a link to a friend

[OCT. 14, 2005]  Lincoln College is getting help from Peoria-based Caterpillar with a challenge grant that adds an additional $50,000 to the annual fund. The challenge required Lincoln College to receive contributions from new donors or increased contributions from current donors in order to get the grant.

Lincoln College President John Hutchinson said he appreciates the support the college has received from Caterpillar. "With the matching money from the Caterpillar Foundation, our students have additional educational opportunities that might not have been possible," Dr. Hutchinson said. "Through Caterpillar's generosity Lincoln College can continue to offer groundbreaking programs and really give our students the edge that they will need in today's marketplace."

Hutchinson said that an average of 85 students receive scholarships while attending Lincoln College. He said the Caterpillar funds can be used for urgent needs and projects, but the majority of the money will assist individual students.
