LINCOLN -- Floyd Samuel Steffens Sr., 78, of Lincoln died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005, at St. John's Hospice in Springfield.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holland and Barry, with the Rev. Oscar Owens of Full Gospel Evangelistic Center officiating.

Burial, with military rites, will be in Zion Cemetery.

Mr. Steffens worked many years as a driver for Hoagland's and was employed for several years at PPG. Later he was a school custodian and delivered flowers for Tibbs. He was also employed by Logan-Mason Rehab.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was born June 9, 1927, in Lincoln to Martin and Anna Groth Steffens. He married Beulah O'Laughlin in Lincoln on July 26, 1945.

He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; three daughters, Barbara Boice of Middletown, Linda Savage of Red Oak, Texas, and Marsha Goodwin of Lakeland, Fla.; three sons, William Steffens of Lakeland, Fla., Floyd Samuel Steffens Jr. of Springdale, Ark., and Donald Steffens of Lakeland, Fla.; one sister, Alma Cooper of Lincoln; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Margaret Manata; and six brothers.

He was currently attending Full Gospel Evangelistic Center in Lincoln and had attended and was baptized in Waynesville Christian Church. He was also a member of American Legion Post 263 in Lincoln.

Memorial donations may be made to St. John's Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.

LINCOLN -- Eleanor A. Huffman, 76, of Lincoln died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005, at 11:24 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Bethel Cemetery, rural Emden, with Tim Searby officiating.

Mrs. Huffman was former owner and operator of The Mill Restaurant in Lincoln.

She was born Aug. 13, 1929, in Lincoln to Ernest and Lula Dugan Morrow. She married George E. Huffman on Feb. 3, 1948, in Henderson, Ky. He died Feb. 6, 1989.

She is survived by one son, Randy (and Virginia) Huffman of Lincoln; one daughter, Cindy (and Joe) Raggi of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Shirley (and Stan) Bruketa of Lincoln and Norma Montrose of Detroit, Mich.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers.

She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 263.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

CLINTON -- Howard Thomas Campbell, 84, of Clinton died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, at his home.

A graveside service with military rites will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, rural Kenney, at 11 a.m. Saturday. Pastor J. Kent Hickerson will officiate.

No visitation is scheduled.

Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln is handling arrangements.

Mr. Campbell retired from Corn Belt Electric in Bloomington on Feb. 15, 1983, after 37 years of service.

He served in Africa and Italy during World War II.

He was born Feb. 12, 1921, at Wapella to Thomas A. and Reba V. Gilbert Campbell. He married Millicent A. Martin on Sept. 12, 1942, in Spokane, Wash. She died Dec. 18, 2000.

He is survived by two sons, Steven (and Julie) Campbell of Troy, Ohio, and Stanley (and Jeane) Campbell of Clinton; two brothers; one sister; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

After retirement he enjoyed many hours of fishing, traveling and woodworking.

MOUNT PULASKI -- Clara W. Voorhees, 89, of Mount Pulaski died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, at 12:40 p.m. at Vonderlieth Living Center.

Services will be in New Jersey, with burial in Greenwich Cemetery, Stewartsville, N.J.

Local arrangements were handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.

Mrs. Voorhees was a retired elementary teacher.

She was born Feb. 22, 1916, in West New York, N.J., to Frederick and Anna Biermann Wiebe. She married Arthur Voorhees in Greenwich Township, N.J., on March 23, 1940. He died March 30, 1999.

She is survived by one son, William H. (and Georgene) Voorhees of Maroa; one daughter, Susan (and Jay) Rutan of Easton, Pa.; one brother, William (and Ann) Wiebe of Panama City, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Robert Voorhees.

She was a member of the Warrensburg United Methodist Church.

She graduated from Caldwell High School in Caldwell, N.J., and Trenton State in Trenton, N.J.

LINCOLN -- Annie Rose Zaborac, 86, formerly of Mount Pulaski, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Clara’s Manor.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Mount Pulaski, with the Rev. Kevin Treptow officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery, Mount Pulaski.

Mrs. Zaborac was a retired telephone operator and had also worked as a custodian at the Mount Pulaski Courthouse.

She was born July 26, 1919, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, to Zebedee and Jane Kendall Whitmore. She married Clarence Cecil Buckles in Windsor, Canada, on June 30, 1942. He died Feb. 19, 1961. She married Carl Zaborac Sr. in Mount Pulaski on Feb. 17, 1973. He died Nov. 14, 1987.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda (and Ronald) Parker of Lincoln; a son-in-law, Dean Leesman of Hartsburg; seven grandchildren and six stepgrandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Leesman; three stepsons; and one stepgrandson.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mount Pulaski, Rebekah Lodge and the Royal Neighbors of America.

Memorials may be made to support multiple sclerosis patients and research.

Tabitha-Wynne Newton Hardy

LINCOLN -- Tabitha-Wynne Newton Hardy was stillborn at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria on Oct. 7, 2005 at 2:52 p.m.

A private graveside service will be on Monday at New Union Cemetery in Lincoln, with Pastor Henry M. Johnson officiating.

No visitation is scheduled.

Peasley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Tabitha-Wynne is survived by her mother, Andrea Renee Newton of Lincoln; her father, Jesse Eugene Hardy of Wyoming, Ill.; one sister, Bronwyn-Eileen Jorai Newton of Lincoln; maternal grandmother Georgia Kay Newton of Lincoln; paternal grandparents Helen and George Tiemann of Wyoming, Ill.; maternal great-grandmother Irma Newton of Lincoln; and paternal great-grandmother Mae Byrd of Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by paternal grandfather Jesse Eugene Hardy and maternal great-grandfather George Lincoln Newton.

Memorials may be made to OSF St. Francis Medical Center Children's Hospital in Peoria.
