[OCT. 21, 2005]  KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Famous Cooks Cooking Club is proud to announce that over $10,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded in its annual old family recipe contest.

Residents from the Lincoln area are welcome to win their share of the prizes. The deadline for the contest is Oct. 30th. The contest is open to all amateur cooks, regardless of age, and entry is free.

"Every cook has at least one family recipe that has the potential to win the contest," said Norma Gray, who is chairing the contest. "When people learn about our recipe contest, they get excited about the chance at winning and the potential for national attention."

To enter, send one recipe, handwritten or typed, along with two loose stamps.

All entries must include the recipe name as well as the cook's name and address on the back.

Recipes should be sent to: Famous Cooks Cooking Club, 6908 W. 135th St. #160, Overland Park, KS 66223.

Entries must be postmarked by Oct. 30. You may also submit your recipe directly online at www.famouscontest.com.

The Famous Cooks Cooking Club is an organization dedicated to bringing together amateur cooks from around the world for fun and fellowship. Membership in the club is not necessary to participate.
