Lincoln College student group helps elderly with leaf raking on Nov. 12       Send a link to a friend

[OCT. 27, 2005]  Lincoln College Student Senate will help elderly residents of Lincoln by donating time in raking leaves on Nov. 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The leaf-raking event is an annual tradition at the college.

Jeff Nelson, director of student activities, says it's a great way for the students to give back to the community. "Last year we helped about 15 elderly people who simply could not get their yard picked up," he said. "This project helps those in need, and our students can feel good about lending a hand. The students who donate their time and energy get the satisfaction of helping others, and those who need help with their leaves get it."

People who would like help with their leaves can call Jeff Nelson at 735-5050, ext. 315, or John Stoltzenburg at 735-5050, ext. 327. Requests will be limited to 15 people and will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
