MOUNT PULASKI -- John Borowicz, 85, of Mount Pulaski died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, at 5:15 a.m. at Vonderlieth Living Center.

A memorial service will be scheduled later.

Arrangements are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.

Mr. Borowicz was a laborer at Mount Pulaski Products.

He was born April 5, 1920.

He is survived by special friends Jim Boy and Judy Coogan of Mount Pulaski, Dave Collins of Lincoln, Eugene Collins of Mount Pulaski, Jeannie Morrow of Holly Pond, Ark., and staff and residents at Vonderlieth Living Center.

He was of the Catholic faith.

Ethel Buehler

CHESTNUT -- Ethel Alberta Buehler, 80, of Chestnut died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at St. John's Hospice in Springfield

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church of Mount Pulaski, with the Rev. Kevin Treptow officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.

Mrs. Buehler owned and operated the Chestnut Cafe for many years.

She was born Sept. 30, 1925, in Chatham to Albert Louis and Kathleen Dodd Black. She married Rex Daniel Buehler Sr. on Jan. 6, 1956, in Springfield. He died May 20, 2003.

She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Kovach (and husband Mike) of Decatur and Becky Volle (and husband Louie) of Mount Pulaski; two sons, R. Michael Buehler (and wife Melody) of Mission Viejo, Calif., and Rex Buehler Jr. of Clinton; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Irene Teyshak of Springfield.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Rexanna.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chestnut.

She enjoyed oil painting, and her work won awards at several contests and fairs.

Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Chestnut or Mount Pulaski or to Growing Strong Sexual Assault Center, 270 West Prairie, Decatur, IL 62523.
