Public and private schools invited

[SEPT. 9, 2005]  Lincoln College and Lincoln Christian College will conduct a Constitution Day program at noon on Sept. 16 in the Hargrove Chapel Auditorium, located on the college campus.

The speaker will be U.S. Rep. Ray LaHood, joined by Dr. Brian Messner of Lincoln Christian College and Professor Ron Keller of Lincoln College.

This constitutional initiative is required by the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2005, which states that each educational institution receiving federal funds for a fiscal year shall hold an educational program on the U.S. Constitution for the students served by the educational institution.

The date commemorates the actual signing of the Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787.
