Interviews with hot-air balloon pilots Jim
Ireland from Lincoln and Randy Conklen from New Holland will be on "Making
Conversation," a locally produced program that premieres on
WSEC-TV, Springfield's PBS station. The
broadcast is a unique local television program that features people telling
their own experiences in their own words.

"Making Conversation" begins at 8 p.m. Friday (tonight) and has
three segments, each featuring people in their unique quest for a
thrilling ride. Go-kart racers, Arabian horse riders and hot-air
balloon pilots each describe their experiences in the ride of a
lifetime. Members of the Midstate Kart Racing Club, from ages 5 to
75, talk about the adrenaline rush of racing go-karts. Participants
in a regional Arabian horse show describe the challenges of having a
good ride and pleasing the judges. Finally, local pilots from the
annual balloon festival in Lincoln describe the experience of
floating along like a cloud in a hot-air balloon.
