Volunteers needed to assist operation

[APRIL 7, 2006]  The Salvation Army Keest Center will soon be operational as a shelter, and a call is now being given for volunteers to help with operation of the shelter and with assisting shelter residents.

Volunteers are needed to give general oversight of the shelter during weekends and early morning or evening hours. Qualified volunteers are needed to possibly teach various life-skill classes, such as budgeting, parenting and nutrition. Janitorial, clerical and office assistance are also areas where volunteers may be needed.

If you have a desire to volunteer for The Salvation Army, then please contact the office at 307 N. Kickapoo or call 732-7890 to receive a volunteer program application.

A volunteer orientation class schedule will soon be announced.
