Lincoln College 5K race date announced     Send a link to a friend

[APRIL 10, 2006]  Lincoln College is hosting its first 5K run and noncompetitive one-mile walk. The "Run, Ramble and Roll" will be April 29, starting at 10 a.m.

Natalie Jeckel McGee, Lincoln College director of alumni relations and the race coordinator, says she hopes runners from the area will come out and participate. "We are trying something new with the race and walk, and hope to see runners and walkers of all age groups and abilities participate," she said.

The fast and flat course begins on campus and winds through the Starkey Acres area. The finish line is right in front of the Meyer-Evans Student Center.

The entry fee for the event is $20 per person if postmarked by April 14. After that the fee is $25. All participants receive a T-shirt and post-race brunch in the campus dining hall. Finishers also receive a medal.

Runners and walkers are encouraged to preregister but can sign up the day of the race. Race day check-in begins at 9 a.m. in front of the student center in the 800 block of Ottawa Street in Lincoln.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Lincoln College Scholarship Fund.
