LINCOLN -- Anna Marie Johnson Hubbard, 92, of Hudson,
formerly of Lincoln, died Sunday, April 9, 2006, at 9:20
a.m. at Heritage Manor in Normal.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Vicar
Michael Stock officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior
to the service.
Burial will be in New Union Cemetery.
Mrs. Hubbard and her husband farmed between Burton View
and New Holland. She sold the farm and moved to Lincoln in
the spring of 1971. Then, in 1997, she moved to Hudson to be
near her daughter and family.
She was born July 15, 1913, at Beason to William and
Hilda Stoline Johnson. She married Dean Hubbard on March 24,
1936, in Logan County. He died Nov. 3, 1970.
She is survived by one daughter, Elaine (and John) Phares
of Hudson; two grandsons, Mark (and Jill) Phares of
Romeoville and Doug (and Lori) Phares of DuPont, Wash.; one
granddaughter, Dawn Phares of Hudson; three
great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Katie Phares of Romeoville
and Tyler Phares of Hudson; five sisters-in-law; and several
nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by an infant sister and
six brothers.
She was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church in
Lincoln.
She was educated in a one-room country school on what is
now Route 10 near Beason.
She was still actively working in her yard last summer.
Memorials may be made to the building fund at Zion
Lutheran Church in Lincoln.

ATLANTA -- Julia R. Hoblit, 91, of Atlanta died Saturday,
April 8, 2006, at her home.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Atlanta
Methodist Church, with the Rev. Steve Anderson and the Rev.
Larry Collins officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Hoblit
residence, 2188 1900 Ave., rural Atlanta, and one hour prior
to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery.
Quiram Funeral Home of Atlanta is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Hoblit was a homemaker.
She was born July 26, 1914, at Atlanta, to William
Courtney and Edna Marvel Reinmiller. She married James H.
McKown. She later married Frank D. Hoblit, and he died in
November 1974.
She is survived by her children, Jackie Twyman of
Atlanta, Lynda (and Jim) Orrick of Normal, Jim (and Jackie)
McKown of Atlanta and Rich (and Sharon) McKown of Atlanta;
one stepdaughter, Susan R. Hoblit (and Larry Collins) of
Atlanta; 17 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren, Alex (and
Mary) Hoblit of Atlanta and Sam Hoblit of Long Island, N.Y.;
25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, one
sister, one stepdaughter and one great-grandson.
She was a member of the Atlanta United Methodist Church,
the Atlanta Ladies Cemetery Association board and the Powder
Puffs.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer
