Campers with any disabilities welcome to attend UCP Recreational Camp       Send a link to a friend

[APRIL 24, 2006]  SPRINGFIELD -- UCP Land of Lincoln is planning its 27th annual Recreational Camp for children with disabilities of all kinds. The camp will be the week of June 5-10 at the Christian Assembly Campground at Lake Springfield.

In addition to meeting new friends, campers will have the opportunity to interact with special guests and experience new activities.

While this is an overnight camp, campers have the option of attending days only.

Campers are matched with volunteer buddies. A registered nurse will be on staff 24 hours a day to care for specific needs.

UCP Recreational Camp is unique in that it is the only camp of its kind in central Illinois catering to the needs of children with disabilities, especially those who are medically fragile or need physical assistance. Last year, 50 children attended the UCP Recreational Camp.

Camps are funded, in part, by United Way and Cachet Club of Springfield.
