MOUNT PULASKI -- Melba Dean Mason, 83,
of Mount Pulaski, formerly of Illiopolis, died Wednesday, Dec. 13,
2006, at 9:26 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital. |

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount
Pulaski. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday
at the funeral home, with Bill Shanle officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Illiopolis.
Mrs. Mason was a homemaker.
She was born March 19, 1923, in Brunswick, Mo.,
to Tony Guy and Dorothy Matilda Sommerfeld Cazzell.
She married Gene Mason in Sedalia, Mo., on Dec. 21,
1950. He preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 1996
She is survived by two sons, Dr. Paul (and
Shelley) Mason of Mount Pulaski and Dr. Bruce (and
Kay) Mason of Latham; one brother, T.J. Cazzell of
Keytesville, Mo.; one sister, Thelma McNown of St.
Charles, Mo.; and four grandchildren, Scott Mason of
Mount Pulaski, Lindsey Mason of Mount Pulaski, Kyle
Mason of Latham and Eric Mason of Latham.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of
Illiopolis.
