Lincoln Daily News
welcomes letters of appreciation, information and
opinion on matters pertaining to the community.
Controversial issues:
As a
community we need to be able to talk openly about
matters that affect the quality of our lives. The
most effective and least offensive manner to get
your point across is to stick to the issue
and refrain from commenting on another person's
opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the
issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

[Related
article previously posted in LDN] To the editor:
The city of Lincoln needs to bring Abe back to his
home and office, which was the Postville Courthouse. Springfield
should not get anything else of Lincoln likeness. Lincoln was the
first city to be named after Lincoln. Tell me if you can: Where else
is the likeness of Abe in Lincoln, besides LCC, Postville
Courthouse? Then you have the watermelon at the old train station.
If Lincoln does get Abe, then make sure that you have signs
saying, "Climb at your risk, blah, blah, blah"; or put a fence
around Abe and his wagon. That way attorney Bill Bates can sleep at
night, instead of getting invitations to sue the city of Lincoln or
defending Lincoln itself.
Thanks.
