Preachers end season with loss at regional tournament

DUNBAR, Wis. -- The Preachers of Lincoln Christian
College ended their season with a 58-42 loss to Moody Bible
Institute on Friday at the NCCAA Midwest Regional. After trailing by
six points at the half, 25-19, the Preachers were outscored 33-23
after the intermission.

Howard Wickersham, who was named to the all-region second team, led
LCC with 12 points, while Matt Searby, all-region honorable mention,
added eight. LCC shot 29.1 percent for the game from the field and
46.2 percent from the charity stripe. The Preachers advanced to
the game with Moody by defeating Emmaus Bible College 52-50 on
Thursday. Wickersham and Searby each scored 13 points, and
Wickersham collected 11 rebounds. LCC led 36-27 at the half and was
able to hang on for the victory even though outscored 23-16 in the
second period of play.
The Preachers end their season with a record of 5-20 under
first-year coach Matt Clark.
