MOUNT PULASKI -- Davy Lee Creager, 75, of Mount Pulaski died
Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, at 1:35 a.m. at Memorial Medical
Center in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. His
funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home,
with Bill Shanle officiating.
Burial will be in Steenbergen Cemetery.
Mr. Creager was a millwright at MII Inc. in Lincoln
before he retired in 1995.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was born May 22, 1930, in Mount Pulaski to Raymond S.
and Hazel Wilham Creager. He married Jacqueline Louise
Dennison in Springfield on Nov. 9, 1954.
He is survived by his wife, of Mount Pulaski; two
daughters, Paula Jean Creager of Springfield and Caryn
Martin of Athens; a half brother; and three half sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three
sisters, Diane Creager, Jeanette Creager and Shirley Turner.
He was a member of Mount Pulaski Christian Church,
Springfield VFW Post 755 and Pekin Local 644 of the
Carpenters union.

Susan Forney

LINCOLN -- Susan E. Forney, 90, of Lincoln, formerly of
Brimfield, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, at 5:05 a.m. at the
Christian Village.
Her body was cremated.
A graveside service with burial of cremains will be at 1
p.m. Friday at Brimfield Cemetery, Brimfield. The Rev.
Phillip Blackburn will officiate.
Mrs. Forney was a bank teller in Brimfield before she
retired.
She was born April 4, 1915, in Brimfield to George and
Mary Porter Sollenberger. She married Chalmer Forney. He
died in 1963.
She is survived by one son, Harold (and Phyllis)
Camp of Lincoln; three grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Geraldine
Olsen; eight brothers; and two sisters. She was the last of
her immediate family.
She was a member of Union Church, United Church of
Christ, Brimfield.
Mrs. Forney was an active volunteer at Mesa Public
Library in Mesa, Ariz.

 Mary Stewart

LINCOLN -- Mary Elizabeth Stewart, 95, formerly of
Canton, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, at 2 a.m. at the
Christian Village Nursing Home.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the
First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Phillip Blackburn
officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the
service.
Burial will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery.
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home is handling
arrangements.
Mrs. Stewart was a homemaker.
She was born Dec. 30, 1910, in Canton to Floyd and Clara
Thompson Putman. She married James M. Stewart in Canton in
September 1936. He died in 1989.
She is survived by two sons, James F. Stewart of Lititz,
Pa., and John C. (and Carol Sullivan) Stewart of Denver,
Colo.; a sister-in-law, Nancy Putman of Edina, Minn.; one
granddaughter, Emilie Stewart of Denver, Colo.; and several
nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one sister and two
brothers.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of
Lincoln, where she was a longtime member of the choir; the
Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority; former chapter president and
current member of PEO Sisterhood; and the Monday Book Club.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or
the Christian Village Nursing Home.

 Wheeler 'Blackie' Laymon

LINCOLN -- Wheeler Irvin "Blackie" Laymon, 73, of Lincoln
died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at 8:45 a.m. at Maple Ridge
Care Centre.
His body was cremated and there will be no visitation or
service.
Mr. Laymon had been a millwright.
He served in the U.S. Army as an engineer during the
Korean War.
He was born Dec. 14, 1932, at Dale, Ind., to Delbert
Isaac and Bernice Northerner Laymon. He married Norma Jean
Logan and they were divorced. He later married Barbara Ann
Gardener and they were divorced.
He is survived by a son, Gary Doug (and Bunny) Laymon of
Atlanta; a daughter, Kay Diane (and Gary) Constant of Lake
Fork; three stepdaughters, Dana Brown of Lincoln, Penny
Eichorn of Atlanta and Theresa (and Tad) Delong of Canton;
one brother, Russell Laymon of Iowa; 15 grandchildren; and
30 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jerry; two brothers;
and one sister
He was a member of the millwright union and carpenters
union.
Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association,
the American Diabetes Association or to the charity of the
donor's choice.

 Tillie Davison

LINCOLN -- Tillie Davison, 105, of Lincoln, formerly of
Middletown, died Dec. 31, 2005, 7:10 a.m. at the Christian
Village.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Middletown
Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dayle Eldredge officiating.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Holland and Barry
Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to the service
on Friday.
Burial will be in Irish Grove Cemetery, Middletown.
Mrs. Davison was a caregiver to many people throughout
the course of her life.
She was born Nov. 7, 1900, in Logan County to John and
Anna Fulscher Steinhour. She married Jim W. Davison on May
6, 1919, in Lincoln. He died Oct. 24, 1974.
She is survived by two daughters, Delores Berger and Mary
Loeffler, both of Lincoln; one son, John Davison of
Middletown; 14 grandchildren; and several
great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and
great-great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death one daughter, Ruby
Haberland; two sons, Raymond and William Davison; one
sister, Kathleen Winterbauer; and two brothers, Frank and
Will Steinhour.
Mrs. Davison was a member of the Middletown Methodist
Church.
She was an avid Cubs fan.
Memorial donations may be made to the Middletown
Methodist Church or to Wayne J. Schall Hospice, benefiting
Logan County, and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Charles Boyer

LINCOLN -- Charles H. Boyer, 80, of Itasca, formerly of
Lincoln, died Dec. 29, 2005, at Alexian Brothers Medical
Center in Elk Grove Village.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at Holland and Barry
Funeral Home in Lincoln. His funeral, also at Holland and
Barry, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Burial will be in Irish Grove Cemetery, Middletown.
Mr. Boyer retired after 45 years of service with the
International Union of Elevator Constructors of Chicago.
He proudly served his country in the Navy during World
War II.
He was born April 21, 1925, in Lincoln to the late Elbert
and Bertha Moldenhauer Boyer. He married Joyce Simonson. She
preceded him in death in 1988.
He is survived by three sons, James, Charles and Glenn
Boyer; one brother, Robert Boyer; one sister, Lorraine
Gehrke; seven grandchildren, Katie, Kelly, Kyle, Sarah,
Ashley, Madison and Emily; and many nieces and nephews.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of
Itasca.
Memorial donations may be made to his church and will be
accepted at the funeral home.

BABBITT, Minn. -- Jake Adams, 55, of 18 Ash Blvd.
in Babbitt, formerly of Marquette Heights, Ill., died
Dec. 23, 2005, at home, surrounded by his wife and children,
following a courageous battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m.
Saturday, Jan. 7, at Liberty Baptist Church on
Sheridan Road in Pekin, Ill. There will be a gathering of
family and friends following the service.
Assisting the family with arrangements is Kerntz
Brothers, of the Bauman Family Funeral Homes, in Ely, Minn.
Mr. Adams worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company at the
Mossville, Ill., plant from 1975 to 1983. The family then
moved to the New Prague, Minn., area. In 1994, he had to
take early retirement due to health problems.
He was born March 22, 1950, in Peoria, Ill., to Wayne and
Mary Lou Christi Adams. He married Nancy Limback in Illinois
on Dec. 24, 1979.
He is survived by his wife; two children, Lindsey S.
Adams of Pekin, Ill., and John W. Adams, at home in Babbitt;
three stepchildren, Jeff Spencer of Waterloo, Iowa, Jason
Spencer of New Prague and Julie L. Spencer of Babbitt; four
grandchildren, Kayley and Brandon of New Prague, and Tyler
and Jenna of Babbitt; his parents, of Creve Coeur, Ill.; two
sisters, Mary (and Mike) Curry of Metamora, Ill., and
Marjorie (and Bob) Highfill of Washington, Ill.; one aunt,
Ann Adams-Chapin of Hobart, Ind.; and many loved nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
He graduated from Metamora High School in Illinois in
1969.
He will be greatly missed.
