The LCHS team was led by tournament champion Ruth Ohmart in verse.
Novice champions were Todd Schumacher in dramatic interpretation,
Chelsea Filbeck in extemporaneous, Stephanie Holford in humorous
interpretation and original comedy, Kaylyn Engelhardt in
declamation, Kelly Knecht in oratory, and Cody Follis in verse.
Other varsity finalists for Lincoln were Tony Curcuru and Rachel
Kasa, third in dramatic duet; Rachel Kasa, fourth, and Kelly Lohrenz,
sixth, in dramatic interpretation; Hannah Snyder, seventh in
extemporaneous and sixth in impromptu; Curcuru and Annie Sheley,
second in humorous duet; Lindsey Boerma, second in humorous
interpretation and fourth in original comedy; Annie Sheley, third,
and Amy Schumacher, sixth, in declamation; Janel Filbeck, fourth,
and Rebecca Kasa, fifth, in oratory; and Jaci Gandenberger, sixth in
prose.

interpretation; Hailey Cooper, third in original comedy and sixth in
humorous interpretation; Todd Schumacher, fifth in declamation; and
Kaylyn Engelhardt, second in radio.
"After Christmas we always like to shake things up a little, so
some people tried new things this weekend," said Carrie Schreiber, a
coach for the speech team. "They will be sharper next week as they
get more familiar with their material."
The team will travel to Heyworth for a meet on Saturday.
